Linux Image resize and view image properties

Here are some tips to handle images in Linux.

Resize Image:

$ convert -resize '320x240!' input_image out_image

Convert Image formate:

Here is example to convert jpg to gif format.

$ convert input.jpg output.gif

View Image properties:

Use “identify” command to view properties of image like resolution, size, and name etc…

Example:

$ identify input_image.svg

Output is below

input_image.svg SVG 700×545 700×545+0+0 16-bit DirectClass 1.565MiB 0.120u 0:00.119
