Broadcast Message To All Users Linux


Some times we may required to broadcast a message across all user in a Linux server may be while rebooting server or doing some other tasks that will interrupt servers functionality.

Wall is a command used to send a message to everybody’s terminal.

Usage Example:

$ wall “some message here to broadcast”

This will broadcast message to everybody’s terminal.

$ wall < input.txt

This will broadcast text in input.txt file to everybody’s terminal.
