How to make date appear in indicator applet – Ubuntu

By default only time will appear in indicator applet in Ubuntu 12.04.

To view date in it you need to do following changes.

Install dconf-tools.

$ sudo apt-get install dconf-tools

Now from Run Application(Alt+F2) open dconf-editor.

Open dconf-editor, then select com –> canonical –> indicator –> appmenu –> datetime.

Here mark/enable show-date and show-day that should enable date to appear in indicator applet.
