Centos change system time zone

To change time zone we need to link /etc/localtime to proper time zone file in system time zone directory.

Lets change time zone of my system from IST(Asia/Calcutta) to PST(America/Los_Angeles).

To change it you need to link /etc/localtime to /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Los_Angeles using following command:

$ ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Los_Angeles /etc/localtime

Now check time zone with date command:

$ date

Mon Nov  5 04:29:39 PST 2012

To change day, date, time and hardware clock this link will helps you.
