Linux – Command to find system architecture

Most of the Linux flavoured operating systems will available on 2 types of architectures.

  1. 32 bit
  2. 64 bit

Now a days most of the people are using 64 bit architecture operating systems.

The main reason for using 64 bit architecture is we can use more than 4GB of RAM.

How to find the your Linux system architecture:

There is a command called arc (I got to know recently about this command and that to share it) which is to print architecture.

Run following command get the architecture:

$ arch

Above output shows the operationg system as 64 bit architecture.
